I always have so much fun capturing siblings together, so when I learned that I was welcoming a new family to our studio last week and given the opportunity to photograph these adorable sisters together I was thrilled!  There's something so special about capturing the interaction,  bonding and of course all of the smiles and giggles that they share with one another.  But, when it comes to sisters I have a special place in my heart for these special sessions.

These two will undoubtedly make so many wonderful memories together and while I was watching and photographing the W. Sisters there were many times that they reminded me so much of myself and my own sister, who now lives in Texas.  Much like the W. Sisters I shared so many smiles, giggles, stories and even a closeness in age with my sister.  So, whenever I get the opportunity to photograph two loving sisters together there is usually a moment or two that will bring back a special memory for me.

I can not think of a better way to end an amazing year than capturing loving grandparents with their beautiful grandchildren. Our studio was thrilled to be contacted by the "S" family to photograph such a special session.  What a perfect way to celebrate the holiday with capturing these unforgettable memories that will undoubtedly last a lifetime.  

I had a blast photographing and chasing all of these little ones around the studio and watching this loving family's dynamic!  I also have to tip my hat to this beautiful Grandma for taking it upon herself to style everyone's clothes...everyone looked perfect!  On a personal note I have to say that one of my favorite parts of this session was when this family said "goodbye" to each other after we were finished photographing.  It was only 2 days after Christmas and many of the family members live out of town and this was the last time they were going to see each other for a bit.  It must have taken 10 minutes for everyone to gather, hug and say their last words.  If you know me you know how special family is to me and how this reminded me of how long it takes me to say "goodbye" to my family members.  I couldn't of asked for a better ending to 2015!

Can you imagine the look on an 8 and 10 year old's face when you're trying to describe to them that Mommy is going to put dinosaurs in their pictures?  You can probably imagine the look of confusion and amazement at once in such young faces.

After the wonder and shock wore off the questions came pouring out of them. How can you do that?  What type of dinosaurs?  From my little girl...Can I be a princess?  All leading up to my favorite question...When can we do this?  

Having our family's 2015 Christmas Cards in mind, which I happen to be a bit proud of since it was just October, me and my Oscar worthy performance children set out one afternoon after school and captured these amazing portraits!  We wanted to not only surprise our friends and family with these creative pictures, but their father as well.  My husband just so happened to be out of town on business for that entire week allowing me and my kiddos the opportunity to do this without him finding out.  Yes, he was surprised....VERY surprised!  

As you can see by the portraits below my kids did an outstanding job acting like a dinosaur was actually chasing them.  To everyone out at the park that day that happened to witness us taking these pictures, I apologize if you thought a crazy family was having hallucinations.

Brenna is 2 years old!  We had such a fun time watching and photographing Brenna during her 2 year portrait session!  She looked so adorable in her beautiful dress and we had so much fun watching her trying out many of our studio chairs with her cute birthday set that we designed for her.  We have had the pleasure watching and photographing Brenna from a brand new addition to a beautiful family to the bright eyed beautiful little girl she is today.  Thank you to Brenna and her wonderful family for choosing our studio to document Brenna's milestones the past 2 years and we cannot wait until her next portrait session!

We couldn't think of a better way of bringing in the new year than with a first birthday portrait session!  Charlie just turned one and we could not be more honored and thrilled to be contacted to photograph such an important milestone for this little one.  As you can tell, by all of his smiles, Charlie had an absolute blast during his portrait session and what better way to end it than with a cake smash!  Thank you to Charlie and his wonderful parents for contacting and choosing our studio to photograph such an important event in Charlie's childhood.  Charlie is such a happy little man and we had so much fun meeting and photographing him for his first birthday!  

How adorable are these two little sisters?  Even though Emma is only 2.5 years old she is already a wonderful big sister to little sister Abbie!  Having a little sister myself I know all the secrets and giggles that these two will share in the coming years as they get older...heart melting now.  Thank you to Emma, Abbie, their mother and grandmother for choosing our studio to capture these beautiful portraits of these two adorable little girls!  

Jackson was such a little cutie with his red locks during his 17 month portrait session.  We had a wonderful time getting to meet Jackson and his grandmother during Jackson's session at our studio.  Jackson absolutely loved our kiddo plane and radio flyer bike and then bonded with our stuffed blue giraffe.  A big thank you to Jackson and his grandmother for visiting us in our studio and choosing us to take these adorable portraits of a very adorable little man.

What a beautiful little 2 year old!  I had so much fun meeting and getting to photograph little Miss Adeline.  She was full of big smiles and lots of things to talk about during her 2 year portrait session.  We brought out some chairs for her to sit on for some location photographs and she was so worried that we might forget to put the chairs back in the studio once we were finished....so sweet and thoughtful!  A BIG thank you to mom for visiting our studio for a consultation and booking Adeline's 2 year portraits with us.  

Being a photographer you can only imagine how unexcited it was for my children to hear me announce, one beautiful summer day, that I wanted to take their pictures.  Trying to get them excited about taking more pictures I explained that these were "special" pictures for their entire family and that we would cherish them all forever, they were still not unenthused.  Now, being a photographer I know many tricks to get kids to smile, giggle and laugh, but with my own children they already were well aware of these little tricks that I used in my sessions and I had to get much more creative.  So, we went to a location that I knew would bring out the best smiles in them...grandma and grandpa's house.  Then after a little play time in the backyard I brought out my camera and was able to capture some of the cutest images I have of them to date.  They are so close, as brother and sister, and I was so happy that I was able to capture that closeness in their summer portraits.  I know that our entire family will cherish these beautiful images of them forever, but it will also give them wonderful memories to look back on and always remind them how close they are as siblings.
